Frequently asked questions

The short version: diagnosis is free, work starts only after you approve a written quote, and everything ships back fully tested. The longer versions are below.

Everything pilots ask us

How does the repair process work?

Five steps: you send the drone in, we diagnose it (free), you get a detailed written quote, you approve it, we repair and test, and it ships back. Work never starts before your approval, and every drone is tested before return.

How much does a repair cost?

It depends entirely on what's wrong, which is why we never guess in advance — and why diagnosis is free. You'll get an itemized written quote before any work begins. If you decline it, we return your drone and you owe nothing for the diagnosis.

Is the diagnosis really free?

Yes. We inspect and test your drone at no charge and send you a written quote. It's how we'd want to be treated: you decide with real information, not a sales pitch.

How long does a repair take?

It depends on the damage and on parts. We stock the DJI parts that break most often, so common repairs aren't waiting on orders; less common parts typically take a few days to arrive once ordered. Your quote includes a realistic timeline for your specific repair, and we keep you posted along the way.

What drones do you repair?

DJI is our specialty — it's most of what crosses the bench, and we keep an inventory of the DJI parts that break most often. Other brands are case by case: replacement parts are often simply unavailable, and for inexpensive drones the repair may not beat replacement. If your aircraft is worth enough and parts exist, we can likely help — ask, and we'll give you a straight answer.

How do I ship my drone to you?

Power it off, remove the propellers, remove all batteries (keep them — don't ship them), pad the gimbal well, and include a note with your name and quote request details. The full packing checklist arrives in your confirmation email after you submit the quote form.

Should I ship the batteries with my drone?

No — keep your batteries. We have bench power for testing, and leaving lithium batteries out of the shipment keeps your box simple and carrier-compliant. If we suspect a battery-side fault, we'll talk through options during diagnosis.

Who pays for shipping?

You cover shipping to us; return shipping is included in your repair quote so there are no surprises. Every return is packed properly, insured and tracked.

Do you only serve Florida?

Yes — Florida is home and it's where we serve right now. Mail-in works from anywhere in the state, so the bench is the same short ship away whether you fly in Pensacola or Naples.

My drone went into water. Is it worth sending in?

Usually worth diagnosing — and speed decides the outcome. Don't power it on, remove the battery, and ship it as soon as possible. Treated within days, recovery odds are good, even for salt water. Powered on while wet or left for weeks, they drop fast. Diagnosis is free either way.

Are you an authorized repair center for DJI or other manufacturers?

No — we're an independent repair shop, not affiliated with, authorized, or endorsed by any drone manufacturer. That's deliberate: it lets us repair out-of-warranty aircraft, quote honestly, and answer only to you.

My drone is out of warranty. Do you still repair it?

Yes — out-of-warranty aircraft are most of our work. Age and manufacturer-warranty status don't matter to us; parts availability does, and your quote will be honest about it.

What if the repair isn't worth it?

We'll tell you. If the quote comes out close to replacement cost, the quote says so plainly and the decision is yours. We return the drone as-is at no charge beyond return shipping if you decline.

How do I pay?

Payment is due after you approve the quote, before the repaired drone ships back. We'll include current payment options with your quote.

Do you work with insurance claims?

Yes — we provide written diagnostic reports documenting damage, probable cause and repair cost that adjusters can work from directly. See the insurance claims page.
